G&AI established horizontal and vertical control for the project, performed supplemental ground surveys that included identifying obscured areas, size and types of trees 4 inches or larger, sewer/storm manholes, drainage structures, water valves, water meters, above ground franchise utility features and signs within the aerial data.  G&AI acquired color digital aerial photography and aerial LiDAR, conducted analytical aerial triangulation adjustment, and collected photogrammetric planimetric features. The Boundary to Support ROW/Easement Documents involved researching property owners, obtaining copies of subdivision plats, ownership deeds, and easements, and locating property corners, established property and right-of-way lines.

About the Project

Komatsu worked with the City of Grand Prairie to plan and design their first branch library in 2001. The City returned to Komatsu in 2016 when they wanted to renovate and enlarge the original 10,000 sq. ft. facility to 16,550 sq. ft. This project was phased in order for the library to remain occupied for as long as possible. Added square footage is dedicated to technology and new concepts in library design allowing for more program space. Construction was completed on time and on budget.
